Scotland
The West of Scotland boasts some of the most unspoiled, beautiful and spectacular scenery in the world with sheltered coastal waters, plentiful lochs, remote islands and quaint peaceful anchorages and harbours to visit. Some of the finest sailing in the world can be experienced among the islands and lochs. You also have the opportunity to encounter wildlife such as seals, dolphins and whales in addition to many bird species including gannets, puffins and eagles. There are also a number of historic locations to be visited. You may fancy a trip to the Isle of Arran Distillers, which opened in 1995 on the north of the island in Lochranza and is Scotlands newest Distiller. There are around 162 islands in Scotland and only around a third of those are inhabited. The advantage of exploring these by yacht is that you can reach some of those uninhabited and quiet islands where few people venture.
